An economist who would like anonymity factors to the above wacky graph of a “strong regression.” It’s from a paper written by 2 out of the three current Nobel prize winners in economics!
The complete paper is right here, and my correspondent factors us to p. 921 of the printed model.
My correspondent writes:
They’ll do what they need. They ignore all criticism, even when repeated by mainstream economists in whispers.
“They ignore all criticism” appears fairly commonplace in science. I suppose the one hope is for the sphere to advance by means of exterior criticism. In that sense, it’s tremendous for questionable papers to be printed, so long as knowledge and code are made out there and so long as the journals don’t maintain criticism to increased requirements than the unique work.
Sadly, giving out Nobel prizes is sort of the other of criticism (and right here’s one other current instance).
